Maintenance of PV plants

How is the maintenance of solar panels handled?

Photovoltaic panels have a so-called self-maintenance function. Thanks to the fact that they are inclined at an angle of min. 15° and produced with a textured surface, they do not retain water or snow because everything falls down.

So there is no need to plaster the panels yourself or treat them in any other way. FVE can get rid of snow or rain by itself. Salt and grease cause pollution in winter, pollen and dust from vehicles and wind in summer, which are only partially washed away by rainwater.

It depends on the slope and the environment in which the solar power plant is located, e.g. the dustiness of the surroundings, local air pollution, the presence of birds, etc. Other factors include the type of panels. These requirements do not put the panel out of service, but may reduce its efficiency.

PV cleaning

The panels can also be professionally washed. Occasional professional cleaning is certainly not harmful, as this will increase the performance and lifespan of the solar power plant.

The cleaning of panels in large photovoltaic power plants takes place automatically with the help of robots. For domestic power plants, you can gently wash the surface with a mop and trowel or pressurized water.

The surface of the solar panels is also cleaned manually with brushes (they can also be rotary) with fine bristles so as not to scratch the surface of the photovoltaics. A long extension is then added to the brushes if the FVE is installed on the roof.

The main focus when cleaning a solar power plant is mainly on deposits on the edges.

Maintenance of PVE accessories

In addition to the panels, you also need to remember the accessories – circuit breakers, inverters, switchboards, batteries, etc. It is also recommended to change the relevant components in time. For maintenance and service, you can turn to our experienced specialists at LOSKY, who will ensure that your PV system achieves maximum performance.

At LOSKY, we start a regular warranty and post-warranty service, during which we will check efficiency and safety, and we will perform a thermal imaging and visual inspection of individual panels.
